Human Mechanic Physiotherapy Limited is a newly started (2017) company in Uganda.

Human Mechanic Physiotherapy Limited (HMPL) is a private company duly registered with the Uganda Physiotherapy Association.

HMPL was established in Kampala, Uganda, to offer high quality
services in a range of specialties; with the aim of growing and developing the understanding of physiotherapy and all it has to offer.

We offer a wide range of physiotherapy rehabilitation services
specialising in Neurophysiotherapy. Our Lead physiotherapist has treated patients with conditions such as Stroke, Traumatic brain injury, Spinal cord injury and Neuro-oncology.

Treatments offered are tailored to fit each individual patient. These can include, Neurorehabilitation, Cardio-Respiratory Rehabilitation ( Asthma, Emphysema, COPD, building endurance and exercise tolerance, Post cardiac event), Pre& Post orthopaedic rehab, Acupuncture, Electrotherapy, Manual therapy, Exercise therapy and Massage therapy amongst other options. 

Apart from providing rehabilitation and health services, we also sell physiotherapy and health related products that can facilitate independence, good health and/ or functional gain. Such products include, orthopaedic items, supports, mobility aids etc. We plan on offering sessions in groups and one-one to create awareness, education of a condition and support for patients with similar conditions. In order to provide the best care possible, we encourage working with other professionals through continued professional development (CPD)





Jainita qualified with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2010. She comes highly trained and experienced from the United Kingdom.

Jainita started as a junior working in the National Health Service (NHS). She concluded her professional career in the United Kingdom by working at The Wellington Hospital, a highly reputed private international hospital that offered Neurorehabilitation. Her main clientele at the Wellington Hospital had conditions which included stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, oncology patients with a neurological element and other such conditions.

Jainita is a Chartered Physiotherapist with respective registrations in the UK (since 2010) and the Allied Health Professionals Council in Uganda (since 2014).



Philomena Katwesigye is the practice manager of the company. Philomena qualified with a degree in procurement and supply chain management, from Makerere University Business School, in 2016. She has served as a volunteer with a number of organisations that imparted onto her; transferable skills as a foundation for her career path.                                                                                                                    Philomena joined the HMPL team from when the clinic opened, she has played a significant role in ensuring the clinic has and continues to run smoothly.

Junior Physiotherapist - Gloria Kwaga
  
Gloria recently qualified with a BSc in Physiotherapy from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) in 2018
She has over 40 weeks of student placements in different clinical settings.
During her placements she attended to patients with different conditions some of which include Back Pain, Stroke, Osteoarthritis among others.
Gloria completed a dissertation in Shoulder pain amongst primary school teachers, in Mbarara Municipality.
  

Housekeeping - Robinah Tusabe

Robinah Tusabe is in charge of Housekeeping for the Clinic, she joined the HMPL team from when the clinic opened. Robinah previously worked as a cafeteria attendant, thus developing on her understanding for cleanliness and hygiene as well as her people skills. 
Robinah has been pivotal in ensuring the clinic is neat and clean for our clients’ comfort. Furthermore she adheres to a formal and strict infection control cleaning rota, to ensure that hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
